Master of sports of international class Timofey Zhbankov, a well–known and experienced yachtsman from Taganrog, together with the crew of the new ROSSKO team, is preparing for the start of the second stage of the Tenzor International Cup 2022 Series.
The track record of Timofey Zhbankov, who will act as a helmsman in the crew at the Tenzor International Cup 2022, includes a huge number of prize trophies in the European Cup series, European Champioship (2004-2006), the international regatta in Kuwait, Cups and Championships of Russia (2000-2005), as well as participation in national and international series in different classes of yachts.
The crew of the ROSSKO team also includes amateur sailors who are determined to get the maximum experience and unforgettable impressions.
Timofey Zhbankov: “The team is called ROSSKO in the name of the yacht on which I perform at international regattas. This time I am participating in a crew with sailing beginners and acting as a kind of playing coach: I will be at the helm and in the process I will also be responsible for tactics, prompt what to do and so on. We will roll down in sports mode, because it is not possible to train a lot because of work. But we still hope that we will be able to show not the last result. The format of races with transfers is familiar to me: it is working, it equalizes the chances of all crews, because the boats change, and everyone is in the same conditions, and in between races you can relax. I don’t remember racing in the waters of the Pestovsky reservoir. I was definitely in Pirogovo waer area, but I think the waters areas are similar, so we hope for our strength and will try to join in and show results. I know with the mX700 boat well enough – I participated in the ZIGZAG winter series in 2021, where we took second place in the overall standings”.
