The PEC: SPORT team will strengthen its presence in the Tenzor International Cup 2022 series – two crews have been announced for the second stage of the tournament!
“PEC: Sport” consisting of Vadim Filatov, Mikhail Filatov and Valery Ushkov took part in the first stage of the series, taking 14th overall place, and will continue to fight at the upcoming stage, and the crew of “PEC: Sport Molodezhka” consisting of Dmitry Ievlev, Konstantin Umnov, Dmitry Popkov and Andrey Puzenko will make their debut in the tournament.
Tactician Konstantin Umnov shared his expectations on the eve of the start.
Konstantin Umnov: “The Tenzor International Cup 2022 tournament has gathered very strong sailing teams, and it will be very interesting for us to compete in such entry list. We have only one professional in our crew, so it will not be easy to compete with those who have 2-3. But we are determined to fight, we want to show ourselves at our best, to fight. We will carefully look at the forecast, experiment with the weight and decide on tactics and strategy for the race. I really liked the Pestovsky reservoir – wide water, and when we raced at the regatta in honor of the opening of the yacht club, there was a stable wind in comparison with the Moscow water areas. A big plus of the Series is the new fleet: identical and well–prepared boats, which gives equal competitive opportunities for all participants in the series. Our crew likes the mX700 class, there are some advantages in comparison with the J/70. For example, there is a more comfortable cockpit, no winch, softer rails. We are looking forward to the start and interesting races!”
